IHUG Helps Glassell Park Residents Connect Through Friendship Lamps
In the Glassell Park neighborhood in Los Angeles, a group of residents is improving their community with a special project: IHUG Helps. The initiative helps connect neighbors through the use of “friendship lamps,” a simple lighting system designed to create a feeling of togetherness.
IHUG Helps was started by a group of Glassell Park residents who wanted to create a way for people to feel more connected to their neighborhood. By installing the friendship lamps, they hope to foster a sense of community and help foster relationships between Glassell Park residents.
The lamps are designed to be used both indoors and outdoors. Each lamp has a unique design and can be installed in windows, on walls, or on rooftops. When one lamp is turned on, it sends a signal to other lamps in the vicinity, causing them to light up in response. This creates a visual connection between neighbors and sends a message of solidarity.
The friendship lamps are a simple, but powerful way to connect with one’s neighbors. By turning on the lamps, residents can show their support for their community. They can also use the lamps to show when they’re available for a visit or to share a cup of coffee.
Since the launch of IHUG Helps, the lamps have brought a sense of connection and community to Glassell Park. The initiative has inspired many people to be more mindful of their neighbors and has helped to build a stronger sense of community.
The success of IHUG Helps has prompted other neighborhoods to start similar initiatives. The idea of using friendship lamps to create a sense of togetherness is being adopted by cities around the world.
The friendship lamps in Glassell Park are a great example of how small, simple gestures can have a big impact. By connecting residents through the use of light, IHUG Helps is helping to create a stronger, more connected community.
