iHug Friendship Lamps Brighten Residents’ Days on Arden in Anaheim
It’s no secret that technology can bring people together in new and innovative ways. But at Arden, a retirement home in Anaheim, California, the residents are finding that the power of technology can also help bring a little extra joy to their days.
Arden recently implemented a new program called ihug Friendship lamps, which are designed to help their residents stay connected with each other during this time of physical distancing. The program allows residents to send each other “hugs” in the form of light signals from their lamps. When one resident sends a hug to another, their lamp lights up, letting them know they’ve been thought of.
The lamps also enable residents to stay connected with loved ones who don’t live in the building, as a resident’s family member can send them a hug from the comfort of their own home. The lamps have been a hit at Arden, with many residents saying that the light signals bring them comfort and joy.
“I love the idea of being able to send and receive hugs in this way,” said one resident. “It’s such a simple and powerful gesture that reminds us all to stay connected, even when we can’t be in the same room.”
The ihug Friendship lamps have been a great success at Arden, and they’ve given the residents an extra sense of connection and companionship during this difficult time. It’s a reminder that even when we’re apart, we can still find ways to stay connected and show our love to one another.
