City of Pixley Brings Connection Through iHug Friendship Lamps
When the City of Pixley, California needed to come together during a time of social distancing, it found an innovative way to stay connected – the ihug Friendship Lamp.
The idea for the lamp came from local business owners, who wanted to find a way for the community to stay connected during the pandemic. The lamp, which is designed to look like a traditional oil lantern, is equipped with modern technology that allows it to be connected to a companion lamp in another home.
Each lamp has a sensor that detects when someone touches it. When the lamp is touched, the companion lamp will light up in response – even if it’s in a different home. This allows the two people in separate homes to feel connected, as if they are still in the same room.
The lamps are a great way for families to stay connected, even if they can’t be together in person. They can be used to let a loved one know you’re thinking of them, or to give someone a reassuring hug when they need it most.
The City of Pixley has seen an overwhelming response to the ihug Friendship Lamp, with many people purchasing them for their own families or for their friends and neighbors. It’s a great example of how technology can be used to bring people together, even in times of social distancing.
The ihug Friendship Lamp is just one way that the City of Pixley is staying connected during the pandemic. The city is also offering virtual activities, such as online classes and events. It’s a great example of how a community can come together, even in difficult times.
